Mission of the Fred Parks Law Library
It is the mission of the Fred Parks Law Library to support the mission of the South Texas School of Law Houston:
South Texas College of Law Houston provides a diverse body of students with the opportunity to obtain an exceptional legal education, preparing graduates to serve their community and the profession with distinction. https://www.stcl.edu/welcome/mission.html.
The Library supports the School by providing a teaching and research collection, outstanding service to the community, student education, a fiscally prudent budget, process improvement, and continuing Library staff development.
Collection: Enhance and target the continued development of the Library collection to meet the educational and scholarly needs of our patrons.
Service: Provide outstanding personalized and broad-based services to faculty, students, staff, and alumni.
Education: Provide opportunities for our students to be exposed to legal technologies and to develop the research skills required of a modern lawyer through effective training and teaching.
Budget & Process: Be fiscally prudent in providing our patrons with access to the best resources at the lowest cost possible while creating and maintaining streamlined processes.
Staff Development: Support professional development by providing opportunities for continuing education in order to stay abreast of emerging technologies and to continue development of the library of the future and support staff morale.
